Tunku Aziz is the real traitor, says Zam

He says Tunku Aziz “committed treason” when he decided to join DAP, while Mahathir is using the opposition party.

PETALING JAYA:
Former Information Minister Zainuddin Maidin slammed Tunku Abdul Aziz Tunku Ibrahim for filing a police report against Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

Taking to Twitter, Zainuddin, also known as Zam, responded to a user who noted that Tunku Aziz had quit DAP.

Zam highlighted the difference between Tunku Aziz and Mahathir saying that the former had committed treason against the rulers when he decided to join DAP.

“Correct. But he committed treason against the rulers when he was willing to be a lackey of a party which wants to abolish the rulers. But Mahathir is using DAP.”

DAP has often been accused of having a hidden agenda to undermine the position of the Malays, Islam and Malay rulers although its leaders have repeatedly denied these claims.

DAP has in turn accused their opponents of playing the racial card in order to gain votes through the fear and anger of the Malay voters.

Tunku Aziz, who is the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) advisory board chairman, filed the police report against Mahathir over his remarks that he believed the rulers, including the Agong, were under “house arrest”.

Mahathir was reported to have said this after lamenting that he had not been able to have an audience with the Agong to submit 1.2 million signatures collected for the Citizens’ Declaration.

In response to the police report, Zainuddin described Tunku Aziz as being “two-faced” and accused him of doing an even greater disservice to the Malay community compared with the ex-prime minister.

“Tunku Aziz joining DAP had eroded the dignity of the Malays more compared to the allegation that Mahathir claimed the Agong is under house arrest.”

He added that Tunku Aziz should be arrested for “teaching” Mahathir to collaborate with DAP.
