KUALA LUMPUR:
The relationship between PAS and PKR is still the same despite the possibility of a three-cornered fight in the upcoming Sungai Besar and Kuala Kangsar by-elections, PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang said when quizzed by reporters.

Hadi also maintained the party’s firm stance on contesting in both by-elections.

“It’s still normal, we will still contest,” he said to reporters last night at PAS headquarters.

Hadi added that the candidates for the elections were also set to be announced by PAS’s election committee soon.

Hadi also appeared unfazed over the alleged ultimatum issued by Selangor Menteri Besar Azmin Ali, saying that PAS will see if he walks the talk.

“We will wait for his move.”

According to a news report, Azmin had allegedly threatened to sack three PAS exco members from the state assembly if the party still insisted on contesting in Sungai Besar.

Previously, Hadi had also purportedly instructed the three exco members, Iskandar Samad, Ahmad Yunus Hairi and Zaidy Abdul Talib, not to resign, but to be prepared to be expelled from the Selangor government instead.

The by-elections in both Sungai Besar and Kuala Kangsar are being held following the deaths of Deputy Plantations Industries and Commodities Minister Noriah Kasnon and Kuala Kangsar MP Wan Mohammad Khair-il Wan Ahmad in a helicopter crash in Sarawak earlier this month.
