“All I’ve done since day one is to try to help people.
“So I’m not worried. God will always be with those who are truthful.”
Tunku Ismail, who owns the Johor Darul Ta’azim (JDT) football club, made these comments to a journalist on the Johor Southern Tigers Facebook page.
This came after he said someone showed him a comment made by some saying they were praying for the day JDT will fall.
“Now, let me tell you smart people something. What does ‘fall’ mean? Not winning a trophy? No, my friend, ‘fall’ is when JDT fails to pay salaries, playing ground is submerged in water, stadium collapsing, losing 12-0 every game, bankrupt and the team ceasing to exist.
“Ladies and gentlemen, that day will never ever come.”
To a question, Tunku Ismail said he was happy with how his team was playing and it was now concentrating on preparing for the AFC Cup.
Asked about a picture of himself being offered an elephant meal, Tunku Ismail said it was meant to be a joke for his friend, “Pahang’s ex-CEO”.
“Nothing personal. Look, when it comes to us and when we lose, everybody joins in and makes fun of us.
“Some even stomp on our flag. But when we give a little psychological warfare from our side, everybody suddenly becomes self righteous.
“When it comes to me or JDT, some people get over-sensitive. I don’t know why.
“Maybe because their wives or girlfriends want to have a photo taken with me or their kids look at me as a hero. I don’t know. Whatever.”
Tunku Ismail said the top football officials, like presidents, owners, CEOs, coaches, players and staff, were all friends.
“We eat together, we keep in touch, we go out together sometimes and so on. It happens over here, in Europe or in other countries.
“The ones who are fighting are always the fans. That is why sometimes I don’t understand. It’s funny.”
