According to The Star Online, Sentul OCPD Asst Comm R Munusamy confirmed the re-arrest of the suspects, aged 28 and 34, and said, “We are now investigating the case for rape and will apply for a new remand order to assist in the investigations.”
The earlier remand order was enforced to enable police to investigate the duo for voluntarily causing hurt, after two of their employees claimed to have been beaten and sexually assaulted beside having pictures taken of them in the nude, the English daily reported.
The victims who only wanted to be known as Tan, 24, and Lee, 28 had been employed by the couple as web marketing administrators in April this year. Later the couple blackmailed the women and demanded they pay back some RM18,000.
According to Tan and Lee, they accepted the job after being told it was an online business. It was later leant that this “business” was an online gambling website.
Shortly before surrendering, the male suspect uploaded a video on his Facebook page regretting that his biggest mistake was taking pity on the women and offering them jobs and accommodation. He also denied all the allegations levelled at him by the two women.
