AMPANG: The magistrate’s court here today charged actress Lydiawati with intentionally beating a woman on March 24.
Harian Metro reported that Lydiawati, whose real name is Salina Zaimon, 51, was accused of causing injury to her business associate, Sharifah Harnizam Wan Musa, 43.
She was alleged to have committed the offence at Hotel Safari, Lot 52, Jalan Mamanda 9, here at 6.30pm.
The accused was charged under Section 324 of the Penal Code, which carries a three-year jail term or a fine or caning, or any of the two penalties, if found guilty.
Lydiawati, who has heart complications, pleaded not guilty when the charge was read before Magistrate Hadlina A Raof.
The court set bail at RM3,300.
