KUALA LUMPUR: Bollywood’s A.R. Rahman, the Oscar-winning composer of the Jai Ho theme song of Slumdog Millionaire, mesmerised an audience of 20,000 with a stellar performance at a live concert at Merdeka Stadium on Saturday night.
He performed numerous of his hit compositions from the 1990s including his latest hit Pele: Birth of a Legend dedicated to the legendary Brazilian footballer.
The concert was delayed for almost two hours because of heavy rain but Rahman won the hearts of his fans again on his second visit to Malaysia with favourite numbers, including Mustafa Mustafa, Usilampatti and songs from Alaipayuthey as well as Bombay movies.
Even promotor Tony Nagamaiah said Rahman’s previous visit in 2014 was also a stellar performance enjoyed by 15,000 international and local audience members.
