He warned those in power against resorting to making arbitrary decisions when not allowing people into Sarawak. “If there’s a standard and democratic procedure, let it be made known to the public.
“This will be helpful for everybody and fairer for those affected.”
If there’s none, that means the Sarawak Government is truly undemocratic, lamented Kallang.
“Save Rivers urges the Sarawak Government to review its immigration policy which seems to get worse by the day, there being no respect for the real and original objective of control when it was first drafted.”
Kallang was commenting on activist S Arutchelvan being denied entry into Sarawak when he arrived in Miri on Thursday.
Apparently, Arutchelvan was supposed to conduct a human rights workshop organised by Save Rivers for Orang Asal.
“I am very supportive of Peter Kallang who is for Sarawak autonomy,” said the activist at Miri Airport before being bundled into the same flight and sent back to Kuala Lumpur.
Arutchelvan arrived in Miri by AirAsia flight AK5642 from Kuala Lumpur on Thursday at 1.30 pm.
