In a Facebook post, the #BebasAnwar campaign chairperson rued the misconception that only Sabah and Sarawak voted for BN.
He said apart from the urban areas, the Opposition had “basically” lost in the rural areas, be it in Sabah, Sarawak or Peninsular Malaysia.
“Why are Sabahans and Sarawakians the end target when it is the same in the peninsula?
“I do not mean to belittle my West Malaysian friends, but I really get ticked off when people say BN is in power because of Sabahans and Sarawakians.”
He pointed out that in terms of the number of votes for the BN parliamentary seats in GE 13, the most number of votes came from Johor with 750,786 votes, followed by Selangor with 685,557 votes and Perak with 512,861 votes.
This was followed by votes from Sarawak, Kedah, Sabah, Pahang and Kelantan.
Lim also said it was not the fault of the East Malaysians that the Election Commission (EC) allegedly carried out gerrymandering and malapportionment.
Speaking to FMT, Lim said it was high time people stopped bickering and focused on understanding how the system was allegedly manipulated.
Following last Saturday’s Sarawak state election, there has been a barrage of disparaging comments on social media, criticising Sarawakians for choosing BN.
