KTM crash

KUALA LUMPUR:
Railway services on west coast lines have returned to normal since 10pm on Saturday after an Ekspres Rakyat train from Butterworth collided with an Ipoh-bound ETS train at Kuala Kubu Bharu.

A spokesman for Keretapi Tanah Melayu said the KTM Komuter service on the Rawang-Tanjung Malim route and ETC rail services had resumed as usual.

“The public can board the trains for all routes,” he said today.

Yesterday’s accident at 1.48pm involved an Ekspres Rakyat train from Butterworth to Johor Baru carrying 170 passengers and the Kuala Lumpur-Ipoh ETS with 340 passengers.

The two trains collided at Km322, with several coaches damaged. They were being removed for repairs, the spokesman said.
