Sarawak PAS secretary Mukhtar Suhaili said extra attention should be given towards the acts of giving money or gifts after ballots were cast, and the misuse of government premises during campaigns.
He said a level playing field should be provided to all parties without any double standards.
Sarawak PAS made its entry into state politics by fielding 11 candidates, none of whom were elected.
However, Mukhtar said the party accepted the results and would remain positive about the outcome.
“Although we have not managed to produce our first assemblyman, the party managed to increase votes in Beting Maro and Sebuyau besides planting seeds and building sites in the seven state seats contested for the first time,” he said.
He added that Sarawak PAS was committed towards building a prosperous state and would support any government initiative if it defends the interests of the people and helps meets the agenda of good governance.
The party would also uphold the system of checks and balances, he said.
The Barisan Nasional were returned to power last night, winning 72 of the 82 seats in the state assembly. The DAP was returned in seven seats, losing five others, and PKR returned in three seats.
