10 hurt as KTM trains collide in Kuala Kubu Baru

PETALING JAYA:
Two KTM trains collided in Kuala Kubu Bharu at 1.48pm today, with 10 passengers suffering light injuries.

The accident involved a Kuala Lumpur-bound train from Butterworth with 13 carriages and an Ipoh-bound ETS train with six carriages from Kuala Lumpur.

“We are still carrying out rescue works and we have been told that there were a total of 510 people on board both trains,” said Selangor Fire and Rescue Department operations director, Mohd. Sani Harul in a statement.

A distress call at 1.48 pm on the incident and fire and rescue teams from Kuala Kubu Bharu and Puchong were immediately dispatched.

The injured passengers have been sent to the hospital for further treatment.
