Liang said the threat came in the form of two red envelopes placed at the Gerakan headquarters in Penang on Monday.
“The envelopes contained ‘hell money’ which the Chinese use as an offering to the dead. Also attached was a Chinese newspaper clipping of me asking Lim to come clean and answer certain questions on the scandal.
“It also contained a note in English, accusing me of betraying the Chinese and asked me what else I wanted, which I take to be related to me pursuing the bungalow scandal case. The note concluded with the words ‘Go to hell’,” he said.
Liang, who is MP for Simpang Renggam, has lodged a police report over the threat, and condemned the act as this was not the first time individuals linked to Penang Gerakan had received such threats.
“I condemn such political intimidation and gangster behaviour. It has no place in politics.
“I want the person(s) responsible for this to know that you have wasted your time doing this and I hope the police finds you,” he posted.
Liang pointed out that the chief minister was not beyond reproach and urged Lim once again to come clean about the scandal.
