He said they were detained in Sabah for involvement in what is believed to be activities threatening the security and sovereignty of the state.

“We are investigating more people. We are compiling intelligence information in Sabah.

“We are constantly wary of the activities of this militant group because they have attacked our country,” he told the Dewan Negara today.

He was replying to a supplementary question from Senator Chin Su Phin who had wanted to know the government action against attempts to revive the Sulu sultanate in the state.

Nur Jazlan said the Federal Government worked closely with the Sabah intelligence agencies to share information for swift action to be taken.

He also said that there was cooperation in information-sharing with private agencies, NGOs, political parties and the community to restrict militant activities in Sabah.
