KUALA TERENGGANU:
Menteri besar Ahmad Razif Abdul Rahman declined to comment today about speculation concerning the purported withdrawal of royal honours conferred on him, including the title “Datuk Seri”.

Rumours about the matter had been widely spread online.

At three functions attended by Ahmad Razif yesterday and today, the masters of ceremony only used the salutation of “Yang Amat Berhormat Menteri Besar” without mentioning his name or title, Bernama reported.

The media, however, has not received any official statement concerning the awards conferred on Ahmad Razif.

The mentri besar, when approached by reporters after the opening of a regional conference at a hotel here, only said “thank you” before getting into his official car.

The Sultan of Terengganu, Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin also attended the opening of the conference, Persidangan Wakaf Senusantara 2016.

The state secretary, Osman Muda, declined comment on the matter.

Ahmad Razif, who is the state assemblyman for Seberang Takir, was conferred the Dato’ Paduka Mahkota Terengganu Kehormat (DPMT) which carries the title Datuk in 2012 and Seri Setia Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin (SSMZ) which carries the title Datuk Seri in April 2015.

He was appointed Terengganu Menteri Besar in May 2014, replacing Ahmad Said.
