Referring to former Malacca Chief Minister Mohd Ali Rustam, she claimed that the former state leader, who had been defeated at the 2013 general election, was not fit to head Permodalan Usahawan Nasional Berhad.
Anina said Umno leaders who had been rejected by the rakyat would engage in apple-polishing as their lifeline in order to remain relevant to the party.
Mohd Ali was reported to have said that Umno leaders who were against party leader Najib Razak were not qualified to represent the party at the next general election.
In response Anina said in a statement today “those who support Najib Razak will be rejected by the people in the 14th general election”.
She said no Malaysian should be regarded as a traitor “as long as they are speaking the truth, in the interest of 30 million Malaysians and their children and grandchildren”.
