Saying that forming a state government is a right only for state-born people, Chong said West Malaysians should not take part in the formation of the Sarawak Government.
“We are now electing the state government. How are you allowing West Malaysians to vote?”
Chong went on to say that the move to allow voting by West Malaysian army and police personnel was unfair as Opposition politicians were barred from even helping in political work.
“We are not forcing people to vote DAP.
“How to do you rationalise (the ban)? On the other hand, you (Sarawak Government) allow the West Malaysian army to vote.
“Parliamentary elections are a separate matter, but this is a state election,” he said.
Earlier today, Santubong MP Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar said Chong was making “stupid”, “irrational” and “baseless” claims over army and police voters in the state.
He said that voting for the government in the place they lived and served was part of the democratic process in the country.
