Penang FA vice-president Mohd Azizudin Mohd Sharif said the report was made by assistant team manager L Katheresen at the Kota Setar police headquarters.
Penang and Kedah drew 2-2 at Darul Aman Stadium yesterday.
“A police report was made at the Kota Setar police headquarters and some of the evidence obtained from witnesses at the scene were handed to the police,” he said in a statement sent by text message.
The incident did not cause any serious injuries, and the FAP will leave it to the police to investigate and take further action.
Several fans threw objects towards the visiting team bus, causing cracks on the windscreen. The team’s goalkeeping coach was reported to have suffered slight injuries from glass splinters.
Azizudin said the FAP was also contacted by the Football Malaysia Limited Liability Partnership for a formal complaint.
He said FAP also hoped Penang supporters would remain calm and not make any provocation on social media sites, which would only aggravate the issue.
“Avoid negative hostility for the sake of the dignity of our football, and unite to fight for the prestige of Penang state football,” he said.
In Saturday’s match, Penang denied the home side all three points, after Darwira Sazan scored in the 86th minute to tie the game 2-2.
