The youth wing’s leader, C. Sivarraajh, expressed disappointment with University Teknikal Malaysia for organising a series of seminars in Terengganu featuring the preacher who has been accused of preaching hate against those of different religions.
Police reports will be lodged across the country urging the authorities to stop Zakir’s speaking programme immediately, Sivarraajh said in a statement today.
A memorandum will be handed to the Home Minister and Inspector-General of Police for immediate action, and the legal bureau will consider obtaining an injunction against the preacher, he said.
“The government and the Religious Affairs department should take into account the sensitivity of his topic whereby he is to stage a comparison about ‘Muslim and Hinduism’.
“Zaik Naik is known for his demeaning tactics of undermining other religions and this could spark unrest without weighing the respect and sensitivity of others,” he said.
Sivarraajh pointed out that Zakir has been banned from speaking in other countries, including Britain and Canada, for spreading teachings which were claimed to be an incitement towards violence and terrorism.
