Schoolboys on way home beaten up in brawl

KUALA LUMPUR:
Two secondary schoolboys were injured after being beaten up in a fight by several groups of students and individuals at Jalan Wangsa Siaga here on Thursday.

The victims were riding home on motorcycles when they encountered the groups.

The groups suddenly chased and attacked the two students using sticks, helmets and iron rods.

Police arrived at the scene a few minutes later after receiving a call from a resident who witnessed the incident.

CID chief Zainuddin Ahmad said the two students suffered head injuries and were taken to the Ampang Hospital.

Zainuddin said following the incident, police arrested 12 individuals at the scene, while another four were held today, all aged between 16 and 18.

A police source said it was believed that the four groups of students from several schools around Wangsa Maju, Keramat and Ampang were involved in the fight.

He said police were now looking for 51 other individuals to facilitate further investigations into the case.
