He passed away at the Selayang Hospital at 3 pm. He was 65.
Speaking to Bernama, his daughter, Husna, 27, said her father was admitted to the hospital last Monday.
The funeral prayers were held at Surau Al-Muhajirin, Kampung Sri Gombak Indah in Batu Caves, she said, adding that her father was laid to rest at Bukit Permata Muslim cemetery later.
Mr Os’ acting career kicked off in 1986 through a comedy film “Balik Kampung”.
Since then, he had starred in various films, including “Adik”, “O.K: Orang Kampung Otak Kimia”; “Cikgu Romantik” and “Senario The Movie Ops Pocot”.
The Perak-born comedian had also won the Malaysian Film Festival’s Best Comedian Award twice through “Mr. Os” in 1987 and “Ghazal Untuk Rabiah” in 1997.
His collaboration with fellow comedian Abon (Sharizan Ahmad) as “Osbon” in the Maharaja Lawak Mega 2011 contest turned out to be phenomenal when they bagged the title and RM350,000 cash prize.
Meanwhile, Malaysian Artistes Association (Seniman) Secretary-General, Hafiz Nafiah expressed his sadness over the death of the very talented local artiste.
“On behalf of Seniman, I extend our deepest condolences to the family of Mr Os. May Allah bless his soul,” he said.
