The Public Accounts Committee, in presenting its report on the 1MDB to Parliament earlier today, had said that Shahrol should not only be held responsible for the weaknesses and constraints faced by 1MDB but that he should be investigated.
Zahid told a media conference at the Parliament lobby that the authorities would have to conduct an investigation on the former CEO of 1MDB.
Commenting on the PAC report, he said: “…now we know that all allegations, saying that there were hidden hands who had received benefits from the transactions, are false”.
The deputy prime minister urged everyone, including opposition MPs, to accept the PAC Report on 1MDB.
He hoped the issue would no longer be politicised.
