Ministers defending PM at people’s expense, says Anina

Ex-Umno member Anina Saadudin says ministers are not even bothered to back their defence with facts.

PETALING JAYA: Cabinet Ministers under Prime Minister Najib Razak’s leadership are more focused on defending their leader and in the process, have neglected the duties the public had entrusted upon them.

This claim was made by sacked Umno Langkawi member Anina Saadudin, who further alleged that these ministers had spent days and nights defending Najib without even attempting to back their statements with facts.

At the end of the day, the fault is always placed on former premier Dr Mahathir Mohamad, she added.

“The leaders who have ruined Umno are crooks. They are worse than your average criminals as they are also destroying the country,” Anina claimed in a Facebook posting yesterday.

“Did they provide any facts in their attempts to defend Najib? No. They only defended Najib by insulting his critics. When Tun (Mahathir) said Najib had been stealing (from the people), not one minister came out with evidence proving otherwise.

“Instead, they insulted Tun,” she wrote.

Anina reminded the ministers of their responsibilities to the nation and the people who had elected them as their representatives.

If they find this hard to deliver, then they should relinquish their positions and assume the role of spokesperson for the prime minister instead, Anina suggested.

“Not one minister successfully provided a wise statement or announced a strategy on how Malaysia can provide job opportunities to hundreds of thousands of graduates who are about to complete their studies.

“The only strategy they have is on ways to increase the repayment of study loans, be it the National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN) loan or the Public Service Department’s loan.

“How can this strategy succeed if the graduates are unable to find work, on top of the rising cost of living?” Anina asked.
