GEORGE TOWN:
Police have detained three men in a robbery case where a woman’s fingers were almost severed in a parang attack at a Bukit Jambul shopping complex.

One of three robbers used a parang to slash her hand repeatedly during the robbery.

Northeast police chief Mior Farid Alatrash Wahid said three suspects, aged between 19 and 23, were picked up in a raid on a house in Jelutong here at about 1pm on Friday, NST Online reported.

“One of the men works at the same complex as the woman and he has been tracking her,” Mior said after he visited the woman, who has been warded at a private hospital in Bayan Baru.

He said police seized a parang believed to have been used in the attack. The woman’s personal belongings were found in the Jelutong house.
