The state execuitive councillor in charge, Mat Rawi Kassim, said the water level at the dam had reached a critical level at 26.49 metres on Friday from 26.51 metres on Thursday, with the temperature reaching 39 degrees Celsius,
“Based on the records from the Perlis Department of Irrigation and Drainage, a reading of 26.50 metres is categorised as critical with an average drop of 0.001 metres per day, and if the water level reaches 26.20 metres, we have to start water rationing for domestic use for residents in the affected areas.
Mat Rawi, who is also Beseri state assemblyman, however, said water supply for domestic use would not be affected for one more month even if the drought continued.
