He said Malaysians who migrated had done so under the misconception that there were not enough resources in the country.
“These people must change their mindset and be patriotic. Don’t live outside the country as this is not patriotic at all.
“They talk about a brain drain … what brain drain? There is no brain drain here.
“Come, see there are so many opportunities in Malaysia if you are patriotic,” he told reporters when met at Parliament lobby here.
The deputy agriculture and agro-based industry minister then told off the media for putting too much emphasis on international reports that had put the government in a bad light.
Tajuddin said the focus should instead be on national policies and nation-building matters that would show the good that the government had done in line with its goal of becoming a developed country by 2020.
“It is not fair for them to create all sorts of stories, especially when all the issues have been answered and verified by the authorities, such as the Attorney-General and the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission.
“Stop this type of politicking. We are interested in bringing up the country, to develop the country.
“Let’s work together. If there’s anything you want to contribute, give us your ideas and your proposals.
“Talk about national development. The rakyat has to work hard, change its mindset instead of complaining about how they are not getting this treatment or that treatment.”
