Najib facing ‘Fellowship of the Ring’, says DAP man

PETALING JAYA: A DAP man has likened the present movement against Prime Minister Najib Razak to the “Fellowship of the Ring”, the first part of the famous Lord of the Ring trilogy.

Petra Jaya DAP Youth Publicity Secretary Abdul Aziz Isa said the adage “one’s enemy’s enemy is a friend” summed up the so-called “Fellowship of the Ring”, and aptly described the move to go against the two towers of Najib and his deputy Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

“Sometimes it is good to set aside your differences and get rid of someone who is destroying this country. It is good to fight the battle together rather than to fight separately.

“We need to put aside our differences to make Malaysia a better place to live in, not just for the current generation, but also for future ones.

“It is, of course, not easy to please everyone. However, at least we should come to a certain agreeable compromise. I believe sensibility will prevail and we will put aside our differences and come together for the sake of our nation.”

In a statement issued last night, Abdul Aziz said the cooperation between those with different political ideologies was not something new and cited the multinational alliance to take down the Nazi regime during the Second World War as an example.

“The Russians, British and Americans set aside their differences and worked together to bring down the Nazi regime. It was a powerful beginning.”

Touching on the People’s Congress held yesterday, he said: “It is a vital piece of history worth commemorating in history books for generations to come.”

The Congress saw powerful leaders from both the ruling and Opposition parties speaking together on one stage as they joined forces under the Save Malaysia banner, demanding for reforms that they said could only take place once Najib was ousted.

Abdul Aziz applauded the success of the Congress, and said Najib was the country’s biggest obstacle to economic growth. He also called for the public’s unanimous support to remove Najib from office.
