“We should not be deaf and blind. Enough is enough. Get out of your beds and fight for the country,” said Syed Saddiq in a speech at the People’s Congress here, where political leaders are launching a people’s movement to oust Najib Razak as prime minister.
He said he had been Najib’s biggest fan last year. “People called me a bootlicker. I thought you were a big reformer. But when the 1MDB titanic hit Malaysia, we saw your true colours. My ex-bosses they told me to be patient ,” he said.
Syed Saddiq said he hoped to obtain the support of young Malaysians from Sabah and Sarawak. “I implore the youths today, you play an important role. This is the movement of Malaysians for Malaysia. We need representatives. The youths should partake in the future of Malaysia,” he said.
“We cannot deny that some at the top will try to threaten us, but I believe the more the youths are threatened the more they will fight back.”
He said Malaysians were experiencing a unique opportunity to save Malaysia. “This is not a time to look into our personal needs but to save Malaysia regardless of individual aspirations,” he said.
The fight is not for Mahathir Mohamad or Muhyiddin Yassin but for all Malaysians, he said.
