IPOH: Wearing full-faced helmets, two gunmen and three accomplices, robbed a goldsmith shop in Jalan Sultan Iskandar here today and escaped with jewellery worth about RM750,000.
The hold-up was over in less than three minutes.
Bernama quoted district police chief ACP Sum Chang Keong, who said the robbers struck at 3pm.
“Two of them had firearms but did not open fire.
“They just said: ‘Quick, grab the things’ in Cantonese,” he told reporters when approached at the scene.
There were nine workers, including a security guard, at the time of the hold-up but no customers.
“All of them escaped on motorcycles,” Sum said.
