According to an Astro Awani report, the incident happened at 10pm during a Malaysian Super League football match between PDRM FA and JDT FC after some spectators had double-parked their cars at the side of the highway.
Malacca Tengah police chief Assistant Commissioner Shaikh Abdul Adzis Shaikh Abdullah said the incident occurred at the start of the second half of the match.
“We believe some 15 cars were damaged when a large and heavy vehicle ploughed through them,” he said adding police were still waiting for the affected parties to lodge police reports.
According to Shaikh Abdul Adzis, the match drew more spectators than expected and resulted in double-parking along the highway, which narrowed the path for other vehicles.
Police are still investigating the case and are calling on witnesses to provide information, if any.
This is the second such incident in recent times. Last month, a lorry driver in Nibong Tebal rammed his vehicle into 22 cars and two motorcycles while wading through a congested road near a market in the area, badly damaging several small vehicles.
The lorry driver was said to have lost his temper when he could not drive past as the cars and motorcycles were parked on both sides of the road, severely narrowing his passageway.
The lorry driver, G Mathan, was charged with driving without a valid driving licence and under the influence of alcohol.
