He said the objects were materials for experiments which were left there by students visiting the place this evening.
“Preliminary investigation on the two bottles at the KLCC showed they were not explosives but were lamp experiment materials which were left by school students.
“The lamp in a bottle experiment is named STARLAB by Petrosains and had been given to the students as souvenirs,” Khalid said via Twitter.
Khalid said students from a school in Bukit Beruntung had left the two bottles at KLCC and they were thought to be bombs by the individual who found them.
Meanwhile, Dang Wangi District Police chief ACP Zainol Samah said the objects were found at 5.15 pm by a cleaner who alerted security at 5.30 pm.
“We rushed to the scene after receiving a report on the objects with a Bomb Disposal Unit (UPB) and sniffer dogs. UPB destroyed the objects at 8pm using a UPB robot,” he said.
Meanwhile, KLCC Communications manager Kuzaimah Idris confirmed that the two objects had been left unattended at the concourse level.
