He was responding to a proposal by former PAS Vice-President Husam Musa, who had also suggested the party’s number two, Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man, take over the reins “to save the party.”
Nasrudin said the party had no problems with Hadi’s leadership.
“There is no need to change him (Abdul Hadi). Tuan Ibrahim himself has given his full support for Hadi,” he told reporters when met outside Parliament.
Husam had previously suggested that Tuan Ibrahim succeed Hadi to push the party to the main stage of national politics.
The Salor assemblyman had previously said that the party was merely the “third force” in the country’s political landscape.
On a separate matter, Nasrudin said it was not wrong for four of its party leaders to attend Friday’s Citizens’ Declaration signing ceremony, which was headed by former Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad.
PAS, he explained, would therefore not take any action against its Election Director Mustafa Ali, Ulama Council Information chief Khairuddin Aman Razali, Pokok Sena MP Mahfuz Omar and Husam.
“We’re not going to call it wrong because it was personal and the ceremony isn’t affecting the party negatively.”
Nasrudin added that only Mustafa and Khairuddin were at the event with Abdul Hadi’s permission, whereas Mahfuz and Husam attended the event in their personal capacities.
