Ahmad Maslan confident Citizens’ Declaration will fail

Umno cybertrooper chief also says a new team of "keyboard warriors" from 10 pro-BN NGOs will soon spread "positive messages" about government on social media.

Ahmad-Maslan
KUALA LUMPUR: The recently signed Citizens’ Declaration calling primarily for the resignation of Prime Minister Najib Razak, will be a failure, said Umno’s information technology bureau chief Ahmad Maslan today.

Ahmad said he had read through the entire declaration, and claimed that most of the questions put forward by the 58 signatories had already been answered by the government of the day.

“However they (those who signed the declaration) can’t seem to accept the answers that have been given. Take 1MDB (1Malaysia Development Berhad) for example. All the questions have been answered but they don’t agree with the answers,” he told a press conference today.

He added that the Opposition had also previously used the “Save Malaysia” slogan, but despite their efforts, Barisan Nasional still “won the 11th, the 12th and the 13th General Election.”

Ahmad, who is now the chief of BN/Umno cybertroopers also stated that a group of “keyboard warriors” from 10 pro-BN NGOs would soon be tasked to spread “positive messages” about the government on social media platforms.

“They (Opposition) can do what they want to do, but it does not mean that we (Umno) will sit back quietly. Our group of keyboard warriors will answer the people’s questions with facts and spread positive messages through various social media platforms.

“At the end of the day, our hope is that people will realise all the positive things that Umno has done and I am certain that they will accept it,” he said.

Ahmad also lauded those who started the #RespectMyPM hashtag on social media and said, “I appreciate the efforts of those who did that, it is definitely not us. I urge them to keep going.

“Even if their campaign gets negative feedback, even if only four out of 10 people agree, it is a positive thing,” he said.
