PETALING JAYA : PKR wants commitment towards reform and sincerity from former premier Dr Mahathir Mohamad before agreeing to join him in getting rid of Prime Minister Najib Razak.

PKR vice-president Nurul Izzah Anwar said the party will wait until their meeting with Mahathir tomorrow to discuss the terms before deciding on anything.

“Let us wait until tomorrow before we take an official stance,” she told a press conference at the PKR headquarters today.

She said Pakatan Harapan leaders will hold a joint press conference tomorrow after meeting Mahathir.

According to her, the most important element in fighting Najib and Umno, was being united and focused in the fight for a better Malaysia.

“Everything we’re doing right now has to look at the future of Malaysia. We are in crisis and we must prioritise the need to implement holistic and institutional reforms.

“So all discussions and engagements must be based on a sincere commitment towards this objective. If we are trapped by our own feelings of vengeance, anger or bitterness, then we’re not able to focus,” she said.

On Feb 24, Mahathir in a light hearted moment said that he could end up as his nemesis Anwar Ibrahim’s cellmate in the Sungai Buloh prison, after he was questioned by the police over his blog posting.
