PETALING JAYA:
Heed the Malay Rulers’ call to review the National Security Council Bill 2015, PAS has reminded Attorney-General Mohamed Apandi Ali and Prime Minister Najib Razak.

In a statement issued today, the party’s Deputy President, Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man, reminded Apandi of the latter’s assurance that certain provisions under the controversial bill would be reviewed in line with the Rulers’ call to do so.

Najib as well had acknowledged the request and said that he would take heed of the recommendations made.

“We hope that both PM and the AG will not resort to keeping silent and pretend to forget the recommendation made by the Conference of Rulers.”

Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah of Selangor, who chaired the 240th Conference of Rulers, had last week, said that he would write to Najib on suggestions to refine the NSC Bill which among others, empowered the Prime Minister to declare a state of emergency.

The Bill was passed in Parliament on December 3 last year.

Tuan Ibrahim also urged the Rulers to demand the AG review his decision to close the case against Najib over the RM2.6 billion donation, allegedly from an Arab donor as well as the RM42 million from SRC International that was channeled into the Prime Minister’s personal bank accounts in 2013.

“This issue is still important, as the questions plaguing the minds of the Rakyat remain unanswered. Was it the MACC (Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission) who cleared Najib of all charges, or was it a decision made by the AG without considering MACC’s investigation?

“If MACC had recommended for the PM to be charged, what was the reason for the AG acting otherwise?”
