SEREMBAN:
Wife of Johor Tunku Mahkota Che Puan Khaleeda Bustamam today visited two victims being treated at the Tuanku Jaafar Hospital here following an accident which killed a pregnant woman near Nilai last Sunday.

Che Puan Khaleeda visited Faudziah Mohd Ali, 59, the mother of the Toyota Wish vehicle driver Zulfahizzat Mokhtar, who was also involved in the accident.

Besides enquiring about Faudziah’s health, Che Puan Khaleeda also presented her with a personal contribution.

Later, she visited Faudziah’s granddaughter, Maya Mayree, aged 2, who was being treated at the intensive care unit in the same hospital.

Maya is the daughter of one of the passengers, Zarul Hidayat Mokhtar, 32, who was discharged from the hospital two days ago.

In the 4.40am accident at Km279.4 of the North-South Expressway (PLUS), Zarul Hidayat’s wife Suzan Safarina Rosli, 30, who was eight months pregnant, and his younger sister, Nadiah Hidayayul Syima, 28, were killed.

The crash occurred when Zulfahizzat, 27, lost control of the vehicle, causing it to crash into a lamppost and skid before landing on its side.

Also injured in the accident were Zarul’s in-law Mohd Izwan Amir Hamzah, 31, and his nephew, Fairel Zhafran Mohd Izwan, 12.

It is learnt that all victims were travelling from Johor Bahru to Shah Alam after watching the Sultan Ahmad Shah Cup between JDT and Selangor at Tan Sri Hassan Yunos Stadium in Johor Bahru on Saturday.

Fauziah, when met by reporters, said she was touched by the presence of the Johor royal family member, which showed her concern for the people.

“I did not expect the wife of the Johor Tunku Mahkota to visit me. Her presence has given us moral support.

“Che Puan Khaleeda also sent regards from Tunku Mahkota of Johor (Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim).”
