
PETALING JAYA: A police report was made against an engineer who had threatened on Facebook to bomb Prime Minister Najib Razak’s residence, Malaysiakini reported. It is understood that the engineer is attached to a government-linked company.His status, which received six likes according to the screen capture, read: “I will shake Kuala Lumpur and the Malaysian prime minister’s residence with a bomb explosion this Saturday because Najib is causing the rakyat hardship.”
It is understood the posting has since been deleted and his Facebook account disabled. The screen shot of the posting, which was circulated on WhatsApp , prompted Mohd Ali Baharom, better known as Ali Tinju, to lodge a police report against the engineer at the Dang Wangi district police headquarters.
“This threat is serious as it can threaten public security around Kuala Lumpur and also the security of the prime minister’s family,” Mohd Ali was quoted by the news portal as saying.
Mohd Ali also hoped the police and the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission would trace the individual for further investigation.
