“Whatever the outcome, let us find a leader who possesses integrity and is the voice for the people of Kedah,” Mukhriz said to the many supporters present at Stadium Darul Aman this evening who later witnessed a friendly football match.
“When I requested for the Goods and Services Tax (GST) to be lowered to three per cent, I was conveying the voice of the people.
“I also ask that leaders pay due attention to Kedah football and nurture this sport to its full potential,” he said, promising to serve the people of Kedah as long as they required him.
“Whatever the outcome, I promise that as long as the rakyat of Kedah need me, I will be with them.
“In any position, I will give attention, to uphold the dignity of Kedahans as much as possible,” Mukhriz said.
Prior to this, the fans gathered at the stadium greeted Mukhriz with cheers as he entered the stadium. They held up their lighted handphones in the dimmed stadium to express their support.
This included the Kedah Football Club, with banners calling for him to be retained as Menteri Besar amid calls of “We support Mukhriz” and “Long live Mukhriz”.
Visibly moved, Mukhriz said: “Thank you, I am in indebted to you for your support.”
Present were Pokok Sena MP Mahfuz Omar and Jitra state assemblyman Aminuddin Omar.
