According to The Malaysian Insider, 15 Opposition representatives – eight from PAS, four from PKR, two from DAP and one Amanah assemblyman – had yet to decide on their stand regarding the Menteri Besar crisis after being notified via phone calls and text messages today.
Bakar Arang assemblyman Simon Ooi Tze Min said: “We have not decided if we have reached a stand on this matter. Maybe it would be announced after the meeting.”
This comes after a two-hour closed-door meeting today by the Kedah Council of Regency with 20 state assemblymen.
It is claimed that 19 of them had signed a statutory declaration (SD) to remove Mukhriz Mahathir as Menteri Besar.
Jitra assemblyman Aminuddin Omar is reportedly the sole representative, apart from Mukhriz, who did not sign an SD.
No decision has yet been announced in the protracted Menteri Besar crisis.
