Commenting on the Attorney-General’s (AG) revelation that most of the RM2.6 billion “donation” made to Najib had been returned, Tuan Ibrahim questioned how many Umno leaders even knew that the money had come and gone.
“Imagine if the balance RM2 billion was discussed with Umno (leaders), do you believe anyone in Umno would have agreed for the money to be returned?” he asked in a statement.
“To all Umno leaders, aren’t you angry that funds meant for the party were returned?”
Tuan Ibrahim said the AG’s clearing of Najib of any wrongdoing by stating the prime minister had actually returned the “donation” and the closing of the case, had earned the condemnation of the people.
“The country today is led by leaders who only think of their own interests and not of the country’s future,” he said, adding these leaders who were Muslims have caused Muslims to feel embarrassed.
“Not one sane Malaysian feels proud of their Prime Minister’s prowess in receiving a RM2.6 billion donation.”
Tuan Ibrahim said the only people who believed the AG, were Barisan Nasional parliamentarians who supported the Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement (TPPA), who in his opinion were undeserving of the people’s votes in the next general election.
On the issue of Lembaga Tabung Haji (LTH), he called for the Auditor-General to make public his report and that the fund be headed by someone who was not a politician.
