“It’s not so ‘tall’, just a few hundred sheets’ tall. Not as tall as the AG. So he shouldn’t take that long to study it,” he said after officiating the first firing of Proton’s latest range of GDi/TGDi engines to replace its current CamPro line.
However, Mahathir noted that Apandi was likely treading lightly on the investigation papers as the AG confirmed this afternoon that the papers were returned to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) for clarification on their recommendations.
“I think he (Apandi) is very careful about studying the papers, so it will take quite a long time before he decides what to do.”
Earlier this month, in an exclusive interview with FMT, Mahathir predicted that Apandi would ignore the MACC’s report on the donation and SRC International, and nothing conclusive would come of the investigations.
Meanwhile, Mahathir also added that Budget 2016 may have to be recalibrated once more due to the further decline in oil prices.
“The (earlier) recalibration was based at a price of USD30 per barrel. Today, the oil price has gone below that price. Maybe it (Budget 2016) needs to be recalibrated because the price is going down,” he said.
