In a statement today, the reform group said the aim was to provide future volunteers and activists with the tools they needed to promote Bersih programs in their local communities.
“Young people who are looking for a way to contribute time and effort to the struggle of electoral and institutional reform should see this as their first stepping stone to getting involved,” the statement read.
Young Malaysians aged between 18 and 35 can attend 3-day 2-night retreats to be held in Penang, Johor Baru and Selangor between January and April, and in Sabah in May.
Participants must pay a RM50 fee to take part. Activities such as poetry reading, musical performances and comedy shows will take place.
Last week, Bersih 2.0 launched the Yellow Mania Festival with a photography exhibition on events at the rally, as well as forums, video screenings, and children’s activities.
