PETALING JAYA: Social media platform providers have been helping to remove content that involves issues touching on race, religion and royalty (3R) during campaigning for the Aug 12 state polls.
Deputy communications and digital minister Teo Nie Ching said a report from the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) stated that the MCMC had sought the help of TikTok and Meta to remove such content.
“Social media platform providers have given their full cooperation and we appreciate it. But, some were not very responsive and we will hold further discussions with them to further strengthen our cooperation with them,” she said, according to Bernama.
