Unnecessary for Loke, Tok Mat to contest in state polls, says Khairy

Khairy Jamaluddin says it is time for Tok Mat to let his Rantau state seat go unless he is aiming to become Negeri Sembilan's menteri besar.

PETALING JAYA:
Khairy Jamaluddin has questioned the necessity for DAP secretary-general Loke Siew Fook and Umno deputy president Mohamad Hasan to contest in the upcoming six state elections.

“What are they trying to prove? I don’t know why Loke wanted to contest, perhaps Negeri Sembilan DAP needed a boost. I don’t think it’s necessary,” he said in an interview with The Edge.

As for Mohamad, who is better known as Tok Mat, Khairy said unless he is aiming to become Negeri Sembilan’s menteri besar, he should let go of the Rantau state seat.
