PETALING JAYA: The state elections are proving to be a boon for homestay and resort operators in Kedah, as a considerable number of them have been fully booked in anticipation of polling day on Aug 12.
Owner of Pawana Jerai Resort, Yani Yunus, 49, said that customers have been booking her beachfront resort in Yan since July 29, which was nomination day, Utusan Malaysia reported.
“Normally, the resort is fully booked during school holidays or celebrations. But this time, (other than the usual resort rooms) the reservations also involve camping sites,” she was quoted as saying.
