Are commercial cleaning products getting too expensive?

Well, if you would like to save some money and make your own cleaning products from common household items, then you have come to the right place.

However, as a safety precaution, do read the product labels thoroughly and label the DIY cleaners with all the ingredients inside.

DIY all-purpose cleaner

Having an all-purpose cleaner around the house is ideal as you will never know when it will come in handy.

To make this all-purpose cleaner, all you need to do is mix one part of white vinegar, one part water and some lemon zest in a spray bottle. After combining all of the ingredients, shake the bottle well and let the mixture settle for a week before using it.

And don’t worry about the vinegar odour, as the lemon zest inside will neutralise the strong vinegar scent and instead, add a rejuvenating fragrance to the cleaner.

DIY glass cleaner

The trick to pristine glass mirrors and windows is to use a good glass cleaner.

To make the ultimate glass cleaner, mix two cups of water, half a cup of vinegar, a quarter cup of rubbing alcohol and if you want, a couple of drops of essential oils.

Next, pour the ingredients into a spray bottle and your new glass cleaner is ready to go.

Spray the cleaner on your window and use a microfiber cloth to gently wipe it off to leave the glass streakless. The same process can be used to clean mirrors as well.

DIY grease cleaner

Sick of seeing your once shiny kitchen stove now filled with grease? Well, you can put the shine right back on it with this DIY grease cleaner.

First, get a spray bottle and add a cup of vinegar, a drop of liquid soap and a tablespoon of baking soda. Then fill the spray bottle up with warm water.

To get scrubbing, spray the solution on the greasy surface and then clean it with a sponge.

As you can see, you don’t need to spend a fortune to keep your house clean. All it takes is some extra time and you’re that much closer to a cleaner home.
