PARIS:
eBay is launching a new live shopping platform on Wednesday, June 22. Called eBay Live, it will be designed to let users buy, in a given timeframe, collectibles presented by experts with whom they will be able to chat and interact.

With eBay Live, the idea is to offer a new way of buying and selling that’s more direct, interactive and user-friendly than anything previously offered by eBay.

This new kind of sales experience combines entertainment and instant shopping. Echoing social networks, where influencers multiply “exclusive” sales in partnership with brands, eBay Live will allow genuine experts to present valuable collectibles.

The very first sale will be dedicated to a selection of rare and therefore highly coveted collectible trading cards, such as Topps basketball cards featuring stars like Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant.

These sales will be accessible via the dedicated or from the regular eBay mobile application.

In addition to being able to acquire collectibles, one of the original features of eBay Live will be the possibility to interact with the experts presenting these sales, via a chat function and reaction buttons.

With these new live sales, eBay is more or less following a concept that is all the rage on social networks today, but with a focus on collectibles, which are often unique and therefore relatively expensive.
