Standing in solidarity with the local community, Lazada Malaysia has rushed out almost 30,000 units of flood relief supplies to 10 temporary evacuation centres (PPS) housing over 4,500 flood victims.
The relief aid consists of dry rations, bottled water, toiletries, blankets, personal hygiene items, baby diapers and Covid-19 test kits among other items. The aid was handed over to the Selangor government.
Lazada Malaysia chief logistics officer P Sunil Singh said the last few days have been rough as many have lost their homes, their cars and all their other personal belongings.
“We would like to express our deepest sympathies to all the families and victims that had their homes damaged and livelihoods disrupted by the flood.
“We stand ready to support the local community in every way that we can, especially with the rising number of people evacuated to the temporary evacuation centres. To all those affected, please stay strong and stay safe,” he said.
The e-commerce giant will also partner with nine local non-profit organisations (NGOs) to raise funds on LazadaForGood to provide further support for the families, neighbourhoods, and even animals displaced by the floods.

“Malaysians can support their fellow countrymen in need by donating to the NGOs currently on LazadaForGood.
“Donors can choose to donate amounts ranging from RM1 to RM500 to any of the participating NGOs including Mercy Malaysia, Malaysian Red Crescent Society Malaysia, MyFundAction, Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, Zoo Negara and more,” Lazada said.
Additionally, to encourage the public to donate, Lazada will reward those who donate more than RM30 with 300 LazCoins until the end of January 2022.
The coins can be used to redeem free gifts, discount vouchers, discounts at checkout, and exclusive offers.
Lazada users can donate now by searching the keywords ‘Lazada Teman You’ on the search bar on the Lazada app, then selecting any of the official NGOs on LazadaForGood and completing the donation by clicking ‘Buy Now’.
