The Play On! Children’s Festival will be held at AISM in Seri Kembangan, Selangor, where the campus will be turned into a carnival playground – both indoors and outdoors – comprising a mix of free and paid activities.
Organised to celebrate World Children’s Day on Nov 20, part of the proceeds from the festival will go towards AISM’s Matilda Project, which sponsors the primary education of children from remote villages in Sabah.
According to Najmin Tajudin of makchic, parents are always looking to bring their young ones to family-friendly spaces that allow them to experience culture, sports, creative arts, and science in a safe environment.
“As such, we are collaborating with AISM to curate an enriching day of play and learning for those 12 years and younger.
“Appropriate safety measures and amenities such baby-changing facilities, as well as a nursing and calm room, will also be provided,” said the general manager of the Malaysia-based online platform that provides invaluable and trustworthy family-related content.
Play and learn
So, what can mums, dads and kids look forward to? Free activities throughout the day include:
- game-design workshops by PlayStation Studios Malaysia;
- gamelan, drum, and puppetry workshops by Pusat Kreatif Kanak-Kanak Tuanku Bainun;
- a family workout session by fitness centre B Studios; and
- art and science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) activities by the AISM faculty.

Children will also be able to flex their motor skills through obstacle courses by Ready Steady Go Kids, and carnival games such as “bumper ball” and a tot-sized bouncy castle.
With all these to keep you moving throughout the day, you and your young ones are likely to feel peckish – if not ravenous! Thankfully, F&B favourites including Skinny Man Coffee, Gringo’s Food Truck, Confettini Creamery, and My Fizro Stickx will keep both adults and young ones feeling perky.
And of course, what’s a day out without a keepsake? Families can get their pictures taken at a free instant photo booth presented by Stories Lifestyle.
So head on over to AISM’s campus this weekend to spend quality time as a family, create precious memories, and learn a thing or two (applicable to both kids and grown-ups)!
The Play On! Children’s Festival will be held on Sunday (Nov 27), 10am-4pm. Admission is free, although attendees are encouraged to pre-register and to RSVP for their preferred workshops.
Free goodie bags will be given to the first 100 families.
