That’s why it’s a blessing that waffle batter is so versatile, it can also be enjoyed as a savoury and hearty meal for either lunch or dinner.
If you feel like trying something out of the ordinary for a change, head over to Ladie Café for a serving of savoury waffles that are just as lip-smacking, if not more, than their sweet counterparts.
Owner of Ladie Café, Lilitha Govindasamy said her waffles are so “light and delicious that everyone can enjoy them at any time of the day.”

Incidentally, Lilitha is also the individual behind, YouthWave Malaysia, an NGO she founded in 2020, which she used to launch Project Wafflepreneur recently, an entrepreneurship programme that trains youths, specifically those from the B40 community, on how to run a waffle-making business just like hers.
Lilitha said that initially Ladie Café earned a reputation for whipping up some of the most delicious buttermilk waffles, enjoyed with either a scoop of ice cream or any one of their other fillings – chocolate, peanut butter, kaya, honey, blueberry, strawberry, Nutella and biscoff.
Once her customers were hooked, she introduced other waffle flavours, including savoury waffles. “Our newest addition to the menu is our crispy chicken waffles.”
And it is definitely not to be missed. The crispy fried chicken is served on buttermilk waffles with a mix of herbs, topped with a dollop of cream cheese and a drizzling of hot sauce.
Though not a common combination, the flavours are perfect together and make a great treat for the more adventurous or those who do not have a sweet tooth.

For those who prefer their waffles the conventional way i.e. as a dessert, their Oreo-flavoured waffles are super delish.
Or make a beeline for the crowd favourite – blueberry cheesecake waffles served with whipped cream, fresh blueberries and strawberries, and a drizzling of honey.
There is no shortage of thirst-quenching sodas at this café too – lemonade, peachy pop, mango soda and Riser Ribena.
“We recently introduced coconut shakes as well which have been a big hit with our customers,” Lilitha said, adding that their coffee meanwhile is brewed fresh with quality coffee beans every single day.
“My goal behind Ladie Café is to be a spot where families can come to enjoy a quick snack, be it sweet or savoury,” she shared.

“It definitely has not been easy starting Ladie Café but seeing how much we have grown in just a year and watching our customers enjoy our waffles is what keeps me going,” she shared.
Ladie Café currently has two outlets, one in Gamuda Cove, Dengkil and the other in Gamuda Gardens, Rawang.
Ladie Café also caters for events. Bookings can be made via their Instagram page.
