However, among the most prominent of Japanese media franchises, the one many Malaysians will instantly recall from childhood is Ultraman.
The epitome of cheesy Saturday morning shows, the iconic Japanese superhero Ultraman tirelessly fought off the monster of the week, saving all humankind from its evil clutches.
Even if you didn’t grow up watching Ultraman’s many shows and spin-offs, his signature ‘crossed arms’ pose when in combat is certainly recognisable.

If you were obsessed with Ultraman as a kid, now would be a good time as ever to head over to Paradigm Mall in Petaling Jaya to relive your childhood memories of your favourite superhero.
Called the “Ultra Heroes Tour South East Asia”, the exhibition is organised by Bandai Spirits and Bandai Namco, the folks behind the collectible figurines, and showcases Ultraman figurines of all shapes and sizes.
As it happens, Malaysia is the second stop of the tour, after entertaining fans in Thailand.

In addition, the exhibition introduces Ultraman Decker, the latest iteration of the Ultraman series, currently airing in Japan.
Folks looking to welcome this new addition to the Ultraman family should not miss out on the chance to pose for a photo with a human-size statue of Decker.
And there’s so much more than just exhibits in display cases to admire; so bring your kids along for the show of a lifetime!

Every Saturday and Sunday this November, an Ultraman Live Show will be staged, featuring Ultraman Decker and Ultraman Trigger fighting off the evil Satandelos.
Three shows are scheduled throughout the day, specifically at 1.00pm, 4.00pm and 7.00pm, so make sure not to miss it. It promises to be an action-packed performance especially for the kiddoes.
Another feature to look out for are the many impressive dioramas on display, often featuring iconic scenes from the Ultraman series.

In addition, avid collectors will have a field day as many collectible figures are up for grabs.
Of particular note is the Tamashii Nations Box containing eight figures and an additional secret figure paying homage to Ultraman characters from the 1980s and the 1990s.
Should you still be on the fence about splurging on merchandise, be aware that purchases will be rewarded with exclusive gifts from Tamashii Nations, the famous collectibles brand, as well.
Hence, whether you’re an adult or a child, a fan or a collector, the “Ultra Heroes Tour South East Asia” exhibition is worth checking out.
